Did you grow up eating Fig Newtons? We still remember my very first bite—the chewy, naturally sweet fig filling paired with that soft, crumbly cookie outside was pure magic 🤤 . In honor of one of the most nostalgic treats, we decided to create a modern, macro-friendly twist on the classic: Whey Back Protein Fig Bars! These little bites pack all the flavor you loved as a kid, but with a protein boost to fuel your day. They’re perfect for lunchboxes, snack time, or a fun recipe to make with the whole family.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried figs, soaked in water
- ½ almonds (can use walnuts or macadamia)
- 2 scoops Whey Back Grass-Fed Vanilla Protein
Recipe:
Soak the dried figs in hot water for 10 to 30 minutes. The longer = the softer.
Next, place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender. Mix until thoroughly turned into paste consistency.
Spread the mixture evenly across a piece of Tupperware or a sheet pan. might be very sticky, so recommend putting parchment paper on top of the flattened mixture and press down to make sure it’s even.
Refrigerate for two hours, then cut into about ~ 16 pieces! Store in a sealed glass container in the fridge.
