Ingredients
There are 3 different parts you'll need ingredients for: the nougat layer, the caramel layer and the chocolate layer.
The nougat layer:
- 1 cup coconut flour
- 2 scoops Ca-Cow Grass-Fed Chocolate Whey
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1/2 cup Monk Fruit Sweetener
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (add 1/3 cup more if it's still too thick and crumbly)
The caramel layer:
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup Monk Fruit Sweetener (or liquid sweetener)
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
The chocolate layer:
- 1/2 cup Enjoy Life brand chocolate chips
Directions
-
Line an 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper and set aside.
-
In a large mixing bowl, add the coconut flour and Ca-Cow Chocolate Whey. Mix well. Add your peanut butter, Monk Fruit Sweetener and mix until a crumbly texture remains. Using a 1/4 cup, add milk of choice until a thick batter remains. (add more if still too crumbly). Transfer the batter to the lined pan and refrigerate.
-
In a microwave-safe bowl, start making the 'caramel' by combining your peanut butter, Monk Fruit Sweetener and coconut oil. Melt until it's a liquid-form. Pour over the top of the nougat layer.
-
Once hardened, remove from the loaf pan and cut into finger-length bars. Melt your chocolate chips in a large/flat bowl. Dip each nougat bar base in the chocolate until evenly coated. Refrigerate until chocolate has firmed up.
