Magdalyn "Maggie" Ewen is an American Shot Putter & Hammer Thrower. A native of Minnesota, Maggie started throwing discus in the fourth grade(!) with her father as her coach. Four years later she would begin throwing the shot put. During her high school years, Maggie broke the Minnesota State records in both the discus and shot put. Between the two events she won seven state titles.
In college Maggie competed for Arizona State University where she threw the shot put, discus and hammer. By the end of her collegiate career, between the three events, Maggie racked up more than a few achievements:
- 7 PAC-12 titles
- 11 All American honors
- 4 Individual National Championships (2 in the shot put, one in the discus and one in the hammer)
- Set the outdoor shot put collegiate record (19.46m)
- Set the hammer collegiate record (74.56m)
Maggie left Arizona State as the American Outdoor National Champion in the shot put and is primed for a big year in 2019!
We're thrilled to have Maggie on the Earth Fed Elite team and can't wait to see her dominate the US Indoor Championship!
